XQuery, convert a dateTime into a date

Stealing almost all the code from http://www.xqueryfunctions.com/xq/fn_year-from-datetime.html I managed to convert a dateTime into a date (dateTimeToDate)...

guys, this is insane...

There is this alternative way, slightly simpler :o)

xs:date(substring-before($dateTime,'T'))
